POLICY STATEMENT

Child Protection Policy Safeguarding Young People and Children

As one of its major activities the Orthodox Family Camp seeks to serve the needs of families, including young people and children, promoting their holistic development.

In so doing the Orthodox Family Camp takes seriously the welfare of young people and children who attend its annual events or who are involved in its activities.

The Orthodox Family Camp aims to ensure that they are welcomed into a caring and safe Christian environment with a happy and friendly atmosphere.

The Orthodox Family Camp recognises that it is the responsibility of each one of its participants, paid or unpaid, to prevent neglect, physical harm, emotional or sexual abuse of young people and children and to report any abuse discovered or suspected.

The Orthodox Family Camp recognises its responsibility to implement, maintain and regularly review policies and procedures which are designed to prevent and to keep all participants of its annual events alert to such abuse.

The Orthodox Family Camp is committed to supporting and resourcing those who work with young people and children and providing supervision.

The Orthodox Family Camp is committed to maintaining good links with the statutory child care authorities.
