OFC’s first ever event took place in August 2007 in Dolfor, Mid Wales. It attracted approximately 30 participants, including children between 15 months to 15 years.
The camp attracts families of all ages and offers a relaxed and informal environment for socialising, prayer, and rest. There may also be some outdoor activities for older children organised by the venue.
Accommodation is full or half board to suit different budgets. Some low cost places may be available upon request, and dependent on the venue.
Last year’s participants felt satisfied with the goals of OFC, and reported their wish to see it become a regular annual event attracting more orthodox families.
The schedule followed during OFC 2007 was roughly the following:
Morning Prayers
Breakfast
Outdoor Games/ free time and socialising
Discussion
Lunch
Arts workshop
Forest trail/ nature walk
Free time/ outdoor games/ informal discussion
Evening Prayers/ Vespers
Dinner
On Saturday evening Vespers was sung. Sunday started with the Divine Liturgy/ Typical Psalms, followed by a late breakfast etc.

NOTE: OFC is not a children’s only camp. Every effort is being made to maintain the safety of children during OFC (see our child protection policy and statement). Children are the responsibility of their parents at all times during the camp.
